After a very prolific last year of collaboration, Moullinex & GPU Panic are back with ‘See Me Burn’.

‘See Me Burn’ is a deepening of their artistic symbiosis which fully materializes on this track, which aptly balances the dark, tense, and evocative instrumental with the fragile melancholia that emanates from the vocals.

This marks the return to a working relationship that keeps on giving seeing as GPU Panic is a central voice and presence on much of Moullinex’ recent output, with him being pivotal to Moullinex’s most recent studio album ‘Requiem for Empathy’ released last year to huge acclaim. Just like they were then, Guilherme Tomé Ribeiro’s (GPU Panic) contributions are made manifest on beautiful songs that are dancefloor ready and simultaneously cut to your core, inviting introspection at every turn.

Moullinex's work in film scoring has transpired into ‘See Me Burn’, with the enigmatic, and at times hypnotic, string arrangement providing the track with a cinematic quality, creating a beautiful contrast with the electronica club-focused rhythm section, colliding with GPU Panic’s staggering vocal and sentiment to dramatic effect. The dynamic of introducing strings to his recordings is something Moullinex has been exploring and evolving to stunning effect of late.

For Moullinex, last year was dominated by his fourth record ‘Requiem for Empathy’. A collaboration heavy album that saw support from Pete Tong at BBC Radio 1 (UK), Nemone at BBC 6music (UK) and many more, including countless online outlets (KALTBLUT, The Fader, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Dezeen to name a few), all rightfully heaping on their much-deserved love. The album also spawned the Live at Eléctrico EP. Between then and now he has also found the time to collaborate with harpist Angélica Salvi (on single Burnt Cork) and compose the music on a scoring commission in Portugal, both of which hinting at what was about to come with ‘See Me Burn’, strings featuring on both, with GPU Panic again featuring on the latter. Moullinex rounded off the year with a joint single with Xinobi ‘Imaginary Numbers’, produced at our new Lisbon studio headquarters.

GPU Panic is currently recording his upcoming EP which will be revealed very soon. In the meantime, he has unearthed a collaboration with emerging and forward-thinking artist Lili Coy, on last single 거울 (Mirror), which came out late last year and followed previous EP tracks ‘Flores’ and ‘Just Go’ which will go on to form the core of his upcoming work along with a very special brand-new track or two coming next month.

That growing exposure has only enhanced his reputation, one which GPU Panic has begun to cultivate on his own terms. Now his journey and musical path has once again perfectly coincided with that of Moullinex.

On ‘See Me Burn’ they deliver yet again, something we have come to expect.
