Lua Nova - Klin Klop’s debut EP - November 26th 2021.

Klin Klop is Inês Meira's alter-ego. One that she uses to navigate between music production, sound design and dj’ing, always accompanied by the violin, in an infinite world of musical genres and beyond. On October 29, 2021, she debuted with single ‘Lua Nova (Overture)’ and it’s an absolute beauty, preceding a new EP of the same name.

It was at the age of 7 that Inês Meira started to take her first steps in the world of music, studying the violin at the Viana do Castelo Academy of Music, and that quickly became evident as the path to follow. Then a trip to the University of Aveiro and a degree at ESMAE and the destination was set. She quickly became involved in large sound design projects in fashion shows, films, and promotional videos for national and international brands. Today, she works under her own name or through Grandpa's Lab, as a composer and sound designer for audio-visual installations, Video Mapping shows and AR/VR applications.

Klin Klop's violin has never stopped to collect dust. Recently she participated on Moullinex’ new album ‘Requiem for Empathy’, at the ESPALDAR residency together with artists such as Moullinex, GPU Panic and Yanagui, and in her most recent project under the name Klin Klop Live - Alt-Shift, a concert-film of original compositions inspired by musical genres such as Pop, Jazz, Groove, funk, progressive rock and electronic music.                                                            

The Lua Nova EP is an instant attention grabber. With the title track and its truly unique timbres and creativity, powered by a vast selection of instrumentation and clever writing showcasing a masterclass in ambience. ‘Klã’ follows as part of the collection, raising the groove levels through punchy basslines and echoing percussive flurries, all of which laid effortlessly over a rich house foundation. Closing the three-part debut release is ‘Big Thing’ once again maintaining the marching drum loops and rich synth flavours across the entirety to complete a brilliant first offering. One we are beyond delighted and proud to be releasing.
