‘Minina di Céu’ is the latest single in anticipation of Moullinex’ fourth album REQUIEM FOR EMPATHY, in collaboration with Portuguese legend Sara Tavares.

‘Minina di Céu’, sung in Cape-Verdean creole, narrates the life of a little girl who wakes up one day and sets out to explore the cosmos. Her story is one of hope and curiosity, beautifully narrated by Sara Tavares’ amazing vocal work, and carried by a sumptuous blend of synths and traditional west African percussion.

Adding to the long and illustrious line of remixers for ‘Requiem for Empathy’ so far, is Damian Lazarus, who really needs no introduction. Here he provides a re-shape to an already multifaceted tune, somehow managing to add an extra layer of mystery and intrigue, something that has been a watermark of Damian Lazarus’ work to date, whether it be with Crosstown Rebels, Day Zero, Get Lost, Rebel Rave, his own DJ’s set or beyond.

As a DJ and producer, as well as an A&R person and label operator, Damian Lazarus has been situated at the forefront of contemporary house and techno since the early 2000s. Lazarus’ DJ career has been highlighted by far-flung residencies, self-started parties and festivals such as Get Lost and Day Zero, and over a dozen commercially released mixes. He has an abundance of his own 12" releases, plus full-length projects that have defied expectations: ‘Smoke the Monster Out’, ‘Message from the Other Side’, and ‘Heart of Sky’ to name a few, with last year’s ‘Flourish’ only bolstering his position on the contemporary house and techno scene.

A true storyteller, Damian often holds court at those special times of the day when only his kind of DJ sets are required. Moments that demand a soundtrack that not only fits the mood but elevates the atmosphere and takes the audience to a whole other level of experience. Something his ‘Minina Di Céu’ re-shape strives to do at every turn and delivers with every listen.
