Here is Poolside’s remix of ‘Ven’! ‘Ven’ is the second single from Moullinex's new record coming early next year. Warm synths and syncopated rhythms from the instrumental lay the foundation for the seductive vocals by Dominican-born, LA-based Ekstra Bonus, whose delicate tone feels like it's being whispered right next to your ears, ASMR style, resulting in a sexy, intimate song that begs to be shared.
On remix duties this time around is the unmistakable Poolside from LA, who turns the heavily electronic original into a downtempo piano ballad making it even more intimate and enhancing it’s captivating qualities.
Poolside, Moniker of Jeffrey Paradise, make a sunny, atmospheric brand of dance music Paradise calls "daytime disco". The project began as a duo and first gained attention with their 2011 single ‘Do You Believe" which paved the way for their 2012 debut album ‘Pacific Standard Time’. More recently saw the release of new album ‘Low Season’ with a slew of high profile collaborations and releases in between, gaining local and national attention, with DJs like James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, techno legend Derrick May, and disco don Todd Terje spinning their tracks early on, through to Poolside’s wildly successful remix of “Feel Your Weight” by Rhye. This year Poolside released original music for the first time since their debut ‘Low Season’ in the form of ‘Getting There From Here’ a collaboration with Daft Punk vocalist Todd Edwards, as well as a cover of the Grateful Dead classic ‘Shakedown Street’ and yet another high profile remix, this time for French nu-disco giants L’impératrice (‘Fou’). Interspersed with these releases was their first remix for Moullinex, on ‘Sunrise Strategies’, paving the way for this latest collaboration.
